Espana Esta Aprovechando del ICP! Spain Embraces ICP!

The ICP is really leaving it’s mark on Spain this month.

Last week ICP Examiner Asha Kirkby worked with Madrid skate school powerhouse Madrid Patina facilitating a Level 2 prep course preparing instructors for the Level 2 Exam later this year. Using the ICP model, as well as an extensive in house training program, Madrid Patina (probably the largest and most successful skate school in the world!) has taken a leadership role in the inline industry in Spain by providing top notch instruction at all levels of skating while teaching thousands to skate or to skate better each year.

This past weekend in Madrid’s beautiful and skate friendly Retiro Park, ICP Director Kris Fondran joined Asha in ushering in 19 newly certified Level 1 Instructors! Instructor candidates from Madrid, nearby towns, and as far as Valencia came eager to learn “the ICP way.” One instructor candidate said she has waited 4 years to take our program and it is like “a dream come true!”

Lots of learning and laughing throughout the weekend. “Helmets off” to Asha for her energy, expertise and AMAZING Español. ICP wouldn’t be back in Spain without her. A special thanks to Roller School for organizing the program and “In Gravity” Roller and Skate Shop for hosting the Friday night theory.

Finishing the month strong Asha will be making her way north to Valladolid where the Rolling Lemons skate school will be organizing a Level 1 program. Asha went to Valladolid last year for an ICP Level 1 prep course and is looking forward to bringing even more instructors into the ICP family.

Then it will be off to Barcelona next month where she will meet up with skate school Patinar-BCN who are hosting a Level 1 program. This the first time in almost 20 years that ICP has had a course in this region!
