Skate Camp World 2026: Learning, Friendship and Adventure on Skates

In 2026, Skate Camp World brought skaters together for three unforgettable experiences in Barcelona, Washington, D.C., and Lausanne. Each destination offered its own scenery, challenges, and personality, but all three shared the same purpose: helping skaters improve their skills, build confidence, and connect with an international skating community.

Skate Camp Barcelona: Skill-Building and Family Fun

Held May 13–16, Skate Camp Barcelona welcomed skaters of different ages and abilities for four action-packed days of learning and exploration. Beginner through advanced classes gave participants opportunities to develop their basic skating, urban skating, freestyle slalom, speed skating, sliding, roller hockey, and other skills.

Barcelona’s beautiful streets became an outdoor classroom as participants practiced with expert instructors and enjoyed the excitement of skating together in one of Europe’s most vibrant cities. The program also included instructor-focused sessions, informal gatherings, and the unforgettable experience of Barcelona Nightskating.

With classes offered in English and Spanish, Skate Camp Barcelona reflected the truly international spirit of Skate Camp World. The family-friendly format also allowed children, parents, instructors, and recreational skaters to share the experience together. .

Skate Camp DC: Skating Through the Heart of the Capital

From June 19–21, Skate Camp DC combined high-quality instruction with the excitement of exploring Washington, D.C., on wheels.

Participants strengthened their technique through structured classes and urban skating workshops before putting those skills into practice on the city’s streets and trails. Social-media highlights featured morning yoga, turns and crossovers, skill-mastery activities, and the energetic camaraderie that made the weekend so memorable.

Campers also experienced the Washington Area Roadskaters’ Friday Night Skate and Skate of the Union® events. From riverside trails along the Potomac to streets framed by historic monuments, Washington provided an inspiring setting where skating, culture, nature, and community came together.

More than a training weekend, Skate Camp DC gave skaters opportunities to challenge themselves, encourage one another, and form friendships that continued long after the final session.

Skate Camp Lausanne: Taking Skills to the Hills

Skate Camp Lausanne brought the 2026 journey to Switzerland in August. Set beside Lake Geneva and surrounded by mountain views, Lausanne provided the ideal environment for developing hill-management, speed-control, stopping, sliding, and urban skating skills.

Participants first learned techniques in focused classes and then applied them on the city’s varied terrain. Sessions also addressed efficient forward stride, backward skating, crossovers, edge control, turns, balance, and urban artistic movement.

More than 20 hours of expert instruction offered intermediate and advanced skaters the chance to move beyond their comfort zones in a supportive environment. The program was accompanied by welcome activities, evening gatherings, and opportunities to explore Lausanne’s architecture and landmarks.

Instagram recaps followed the camp from its opening sessions through the final day, highlighting stride work, yoga, urban skating, steady progress, and the excitement of finishing the experience together.

One World, One Skating Community

Barcelona, Washington, D.C., and Lausanne each gave participants a different way to experience skating. Barcelona offered variety, culture, and family-centered fun. Washington combined skill development with historic city skating and a major community event. Lausanne challenged skaters to control speed, manage hills, and approach demanding urban terrain with greater confidence.

Across every location, the most meaningful highlight was the community. Skaters and instructors from different countries learned from one another, celebrated progress, shared experiences, and created friendships through their common passion for skating.

Looking Forward to Skate Camp World 2027

As we celebrate everything accomplished in 2026, we are already looking forward to where Skate Camp World will take us in 2027.

New skills will be learned. New cities will be explored. New friendships will begin, and familiar faces will meet once again. Wherever the next journey leads, Skate Camp World will continue creating opportunities for skaters to learn, grow, travel, and belong.
